COMMUNITY RADIO ENDEAVOUR WARRNAMBOOL PROGRAMMING POLICY
 
  (a) The Programming Committee's first objective is to cater for the needs of those people who are not adequately served by existing media in the Warrnambool district. The Committee will cater for these needs in three broad areas - community access, a broad spectrum of music, and education.

(b) Programmes, both musical and spoken word, will aim to extend the range of experience and interests of the community of Warrnambool and District.

(c) Programmes will aim to foster ' local culture. Australian music and culture in general, most especially that locally produced and presented, will be promoted. The station will engender a sense of pride and excitement about the Warrnambool District's achievement and creativity.

(d) The station will observe the codes and standards of broadcasting (including those concerning libel and defamation) as detailed in documents produced by the Public Broadcasting Association of Australia, the Australian Broadcasting Tribunal and in the Broadcasting Act itself.

(e) The station will provide the greatest amount of community access to its airwaves as is possible, and will not discriminate against any groups within the community on the basis of sex, creed, race, politics, colour or ethnic background.

(f) The station will have a special commitment to providing high quality educational, and children's programmes.

(g) Every emphasis will be put on maintaining the highest quality standards in presentation and production commensurate with the voluntary aspect of the station's operation.

(h) Programming and standards will be reviewed regularly by the Programming Sub-Committee and any disputes or discrepancies with the station's programme policy will be adjudicated by the executive committee.

(i) Should potentially offensive or disturbing material be broadcast, clear warnings will be announced before the programme in question.

(j) The station will reserve the right of reply to any group or individual who claims that particular programmes have unjustly or wrongly promoted a point of view counter to their belief. The C.R.E.W. Executive will have final adjudication on this matter.

(k) The station will provide for community service announcements to be broadcast.

(1) Religious programmes must abide by the objectives of religious broadcasting as referenced in the Australian Broadcasting Tribunal's self-regulations publication (page 111).

(m) The Committee reserves the right to implement programme policy in the spirit of the guidelines and in the interest of the community.

(n) Should controversial matter be broadcast, an acknowledgement will be made to the effect that the views expressed are not necessarily the views of the C.R.E.W. organisation.
